The Valley of Dolls
Welcome to the Valley of Dolls – one of the most extraordinary places in Japan. This bone-chilling village called Nagoro is situated in a remote location, therefore the population decreases over time and Nagoro slowly dies. Artist Ayano Tsukimi returned back home to Nagoro after 11 years of absence just to find out that most of her friends and neighbors are gone. The artist decided to pay tribute to those absent and after creating her first scarecrow, her father’s look-alike, she has opened the doors to The Valley of Dolls.
Now there are more than 350 life-size dolls, each representing a real person who used to live there. They all were created in a period of 10 years and, despite all the sincere intentions, are absolutely ready to scare the hell out of any stranger.
